OVERVIEW

This 3-day course gives a first insight into the basic principles of physical therapy and their implementation into the clinical practice. The scientific background of common used modalities and their practical use will be explained and exercised.

TOPICS

Introduction: PT - the future of your practice
In this part we will talk about the scientific basics of PT and how to integrate it into your practice. Do we need a special physical therapy examination? What did you examine until now and what will you examine additionally in the future? In the practical part you will train range of motion and muscle circumference measurements.

Basic principles of physical therapy modalities
We will cover massage, thermotherapy, electrotherapy, hydrotherapy and therapeutic exercises. What are the physiological effects of the different modalities; are they evidenced based medicine and how can we use them in animals? Each modality will be explained in theory and practice.

Common indications for physical therapy: Learn more about the practical use of the modalities
We will present case reports from our clinic and how we have treated them!
Make your first treatment plan: Develop with the help of our instructors an easy treatment plan for a patient. Present your results to the other participants and discuss with them!
