OVERVIEW

General program:
In the mornings: lectures with one general topic, in the afternoons: practical training on patients, group case discussion on pre-recorded case material

Please note:
This Cardiology course is open to new-comers. The programme is designed for veterinarians with advanced knowledge and experience in cardiology.

  • Echocardiography: Diastolic function
  • Echocardiography: Systolic function
  • Congenital heart disease: Echo diagnosis, hemodynamics and treatment
  • Acquired heart disease: From diagnosis to treatment

    Workshops: Workshops will include: Practical training with the instructors on dogs and cats, discussion with the course masters and instructors, studying cases presented on videotape and learning tests.

    09:45 – 10:30 Problem oriented chocardiography using a flow chart – right heart problems
    11:00 – 11:45 Pressure measurements using CW-Doppler measurements and clinical applications
    11:45 – 12:30 Reference values, reference ranges, clinical cut offs and effects of age, gender, body weight, heart rate, load, and breed on echocardiographic variables
    12:30 – 13:00 Echocardiographic pitfalls and caveats: Why is the echocardiographer not always right?
