Introduction:
In human medicine, physiotherapy and its positive effects on complete rehabilitation have been evidence based and well documented. Historically, little attention has been given to veterinary patients needing these services.
General information:
The intent of this course is to present a practical approach to rehabilitation of small animals as well as the science behind it. Practioners should be able to get started with physiotherapy after the course immediately. The course will cover principles of rehabilitation, biomechanics of physical therapy, manual therapy, physical modalities and emerging modalities.
Information on rehabilitation and physical therapy of specific patients will be worked on; including sporting dogs, orthopaedic, neurology and medically compromised patients and aging dogs.
Evidence based medicine will be trained. Pain and wound management, massage, training advice and owner management as well as logistics will be covered.
Please note: This course is open to veterinarians and qualified clinic technicians / assistants.

The underwater treadmill `WATER-WALKER` has been kindly loaned by the company KEIPER first European producer and distributor of underwater treadmills for dogs.
