Small Animal Ophthalmology Course
Veterinary Ophthalmology will be taught during 2 two-week courses, one in 2008 and one in 2009.
The first part of the ophthalmology course 2008 will be held in Luxembourg the and the 2009 (II) venue will be the Veterinary School in Toulouse. The ophthalmology courses are basically repeats of the successful courses previously held in London and Toulouse, with one difference: course I will be primarily didactic instruction with some wet lab, whereas course II will have less didactic instruction and more wet lab. The syllabus remains the same, but course II has been redesigned to make use of the excellent wet lab that is available in Toulouse.
Ophthalmology course I 2008 will cover the clinical examination, conditions of the eyelids, conjunctiva, membrana nictitans, lacrimal system, sclera, cornea and uveal tract, neu-rophthalmology, ocular pharmacology and diagnostic imaging.
Ophthalmology course II 2009 will cover orbital disease, the lens, glaucoma, the retina, ocular anaesthesiology and pathology, inherited ocular disease and its control and there will be reference to species other than the dog and cat. The 2 courses are complementary and linked with 12 months of distance learning.
