 Fahrenkrug, Peter, Dr. Dr. (Quickborn, Germany)
Dr. Dr. Peter Fahrenkrug graduated from the Hannover Veterinary Faculty in 1977, received his Dr.med.vet. there in 1978. In 1982 he graduated from the Medical University of Hamburg as Dr.med.dent.
Working as a human dentist from 1982 until 1994, he also worked with animals of all species and did scientific research in Veterinary Dentistry.
He received numerous specialist titles, i.e. Fellow of the Academy of Veterinary Dentistry (USA), Diplomate of the EVDC, board certified Specialist in Veterinary Dentistry and Equine Dentistry. He also functions as board member of various national and international veterinary organizations and has published 68 texts so far in international scientific journals and books.
Today he works as a self-employed veterinary dentist focusing on teaching at the Hannover and Giessen Veterinary Faculties as well as at seminars in Germany and abroad. He regularly treats clinical cases in two small-animal and one equine clinic in Hamburg, Germany.
So far he has given over 600 lectures on veterinary dentistry in Germany (BPT-Seminars) and at domestic and international conferences. He also educates and supports veterinarians in practice organisation and practice management. 1996 – 2000 he has been course master of dentistry training programmes at the ESAVS.
